David chairs the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Debevoise & Plimpton and is widely recognized as one of the top IP litigators in the country. He’s been described as “a luminary in the field,” “the wizard of trademark law,” and “a real litigation rock star,” and is consistently ranked at the top by Chambers, The Legal 500, and World Trademark Review.

Importantly for the domain community, David is deeply experienced in UDRP-related matters. He was among the experts with whom WIPO consulted when the UDRP was being developed, has served as a neutral in domain name disputes administered by WIPO, the Forum and other international arbitration bodies, and has helped shape UDRP jurisprudence over the years. His leadership roles at INTA, including serving as Past Counsel and Chair of the International Amicus Committee, further underscore his contributions to domain name policy and rights protection.

He has taught Advanced Trademark Law at NYU and Trademark Practice at Berkeley, has long been the co-lead faculty for the annual WIPO Advanced Workshop on Domain Name Dispute Resolution, and is a co-author of the industry’s leading treatise on advertising law.
