After two decades of service, Jeremiah Johnston has announced that he’ll be stepping down from the ICA Board of Directors following his decision to step away from his role at Sedo at the end of the month.

Jeremiah has been part of the ICA since the very beginning. Sedo was one of the founding members when the ICA was established in 2006, and Jeremiah has served as Board President for much of the organization’s history. Over the years, he has been a steady, thoughtful, and deeply committed advocate for the domain investment community, helping guide the ICA through some of the industry’s most important moments and challenges.

It’s difficult to fully capture the impact Jeremiah’s leadership, institutional knowledge, and long-term commitment have had on the organization and the broader domain name industry. The ICA we know today would not exist in the same way without his years of dedication and support.

In his letter to ICA members, Jeremiah reflected on the ICA’s journey and the growth of the industry over the past two decades:

“When the ICA was founded it was clear the domain industry needed a unified voice to address the myriad of challenges affecting domain owners and our businesses. We were outnumbered, outfinanced, and faced a disparaging narrative being pushed by large IP law firms and big brands alike. Despite those headwinds, the ICA has only grown in numbers and influence, and those who once derided us now seek our advice and partnership.

This steady progress led to the ICA of today, celebrating 20 years with an exciting event in NYC, and supported by a strong cast of members and an amazing leadership team in Kamila, Zak, and the board. With the help of Tiffany and the growing team, the ICA will continue to punch above its weight protecting the rights of its members.”

We are incredibly grateful to Jeremiah for everything he has done for the ICA and the domain name community over the past 20 years. Jeremiah will also be attending ICA NYC next week, so those of you joining us there will have the opportunity to say hello, and wish him well in person. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him nothing but success and happiness in whatever comes next.
