Philip CorwinBlog

Internet Commerce Association (ICA) Counsel Philip Corwin is featured in a 30-minute 1-on-1 interview with Domain Masters radio host Victor Pitts in a wide-ranging discussion of legal and policy issues of bottom line importance to all domain investors. The show will first air on WebmasterRadio.fm at 5pm ET on Wednesday, May 2, 2012. Shortly after that initial webcast, the episode will be archived at http://www2.webmasterradio.fm/domain-masters/ as well as on iTunes and other podcast services.

Topics addressed in the course of their dialogue include:

  • ·         The evolution of policies applicable to new gTLDs, including new Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) such as Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS).
  • ·         Trademark and other contention rights in the new gTLD program.
  • ·         Where ICANN is headed on WHOIS reform and other law enforcement priorities, and what these changes mean for registrars and their customers.
  • ·         Will URS and the other new RPMs be applied to .Com and other incumbent registries, and how does that relate to UDRP reform?
  • ·         What domainers can do to help protect their rights in Washington and at ICANN.
  • ·         History of and current priorities/new initiatives for the ICA.

We hope that all domain investors – and everyone else with an interest in these topics – will find the interview to be interesting and informative.
