Fabulous and TRAFFIC partnered to host TRAFFIC Down Under in Gold Coast, Australia this week. This conference brought in a large number of domainers from Australia. It was good to see new faces in an international industry conference.

I am not sure how Fabulous pulled off its brilliant weather strategy, but it worked perfectly. Attendees were lured to the beautiful Gold Coast with the promise of beautiful beaches with wonderful weather and delightful tropical sea breezes. Then when everyone arrives, Fabulous arranges for three days of non-stop rain so that sessions are well attended. Now on the morning of the last day of the conference with outdoor activities planned, the weather is perfect, not a cloud in the sky.

The optional opening and closing days were filled with recreational activities. The opening day activities included paintball, zorbing (www.Zorb.com.au) and kart racing. It made a great ice-breaker for the attendees. The conference sessions were well organized and a covered lot of new topics and material. This made for an informative and productive conference. I talked to many domainers who were attending their first domain conference and others who have attended many domain conferences. The overwhelming majority expressed satisfaction with TRAFFIC Down Under.

ICA was the beneficiary of a domain name auction on Wednesday night.  The auction raised $18,800 for ICA. Thank you to all who donated domains.
